packing and Target
Once again I'm busy packing and doing laundry and making lists of everything that must go with us on a trip...that's right, we're heading back to Nebraska tomorrow! We're celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family this weekend...the weekend before Thanksgiving. I was out shopping for gifts last night and it felt so strange...is it already time for the Holidays?!? where has the time gone?
I am in total shock right now. Tyson came home last night from class and said that he heard that Target lost some outrageous number in sales percentage last quarter (I'm thinking he said 28% but don't quote me) and if that continues, there could be no more Target!!! what?!?!?!?!? now, I didn't grow up with Target. it was either Wal-Mart or K-Mart and they were both 30 minutes away. I was never introduced to the wonderfulness of Target until I lived in Denver...and I fell in love. And Owasso has a Target only 3 minutes from my house...amazing. what will happen if it goes away?!? that would be a truly sad day. I just thought I should warn all of you who also love Target.
and I think Audrey is waking up from a very long afternoon nap...what a pleasant surprise...I had extra time to pack and do laundry...or write on my blog. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

sleeping in and 9 month clothes
We're slowly making progress on adjusting from the end of Daylight Savings time...I would never have guessed it would be so hard to get a baby to sleep in a little longer! We've been puting her to bed a little earlier each night and last night we put her down at 7:45pm. She made a little noise during the night but we left her alone and she didn't wake up until 7:00am!!!! amazing!!!! If I had tried to solve this sleeping conflict on my own, I would have tried keeping her awake longer and puting her in bed later so she would sleep later, but this, in fact, does not work. I read in one of my many "baby" books that the best way to get a baby to have a later wake-up time is to put them to bed earlier! I thought the author was crazy, but I was at my wits end and was not wanting to keep waking up between 5:30 and 6 every morning, so I adjusted her feeding times and put her to bed earlier and sure enough, she slept later! Hopefully this will last...
Thursday I started going through Audrey's clothes to take out the ones that no longer fit. I can hardly believe how many clothes she's already gone through and how many outfits she only wore one time! what a waste of such adorable clothes! and I had to put all of her 6 month onsies away, which means, she's wearing 9 month onesies!!! She's had a few dresses/outfits that were 6-9 month, but to actually move to 9 month clothes...no way. I'm in disbelief. I remember when we first brought her home from the hospital and we started going through all of the adorable little girl clothes that we got as gifts. I distinctly remember holding up a 5 pack of Carter's 9 month pink/flowery onesies and thinking, "no way will she ever fit in these." Six short months later and they fit. it's kind of sad.

chubby babies
Today I took Audrey to see her pediatrician for her 6 month check-up and more shots. She was a trooper, as usual, about her shots. She looked stunned after the first one and then cried a little bit after the other two. Her poor little legs... actually, her poor chubby little legs. She's quite a chubby little girl and Tyson and I assumed that we would have chubby babies, since I had huge cheeks and a double chin and Tyson was known as "boss hog." :) Audrey has consistently been in the 90th percentile range on weight (right now she's 18.6 lbs which is in the 89.8 percentile), (and on a side note, she's now in the 97th percentile on height(27.7 inches)...she grew over 2 inches since Oct. 6th!!) so I assumed that I probably looked about her size and was as chubby as she is when I was a baby.

I was wrong. I found my 6 month picture this weekend:

I wonder what percentiles I was in...gaaaaw-leeeeee!!!

harvest and 6 months old
greetings from Nebraska!
Tyson and Audrey on the tractor.
Angie, Malorie, Nana and the two of us went on a walk...I'm very grateful for the paved roads we usually walk on at home!

Happy 6 months, Audrey!
Tyson and I (and Angie, Steve and Malorie) came here over the weekend to help my dad with the corn harvest. Tyson went back to OK since he had to work and Audrey & I decided to stay here for the week. We're having a great time with Nana and Papa Gustafson!

and Audrey is 6 months old today! I took some pictures with her giraffe this morning and then realized I didn't have my cord to put them on this computer. So we took some more pictures with her giraffe with Nana's camera...and there were so many cute ones, I couldn't pick only one...

Happy 6 months, Audrey!Tuesday, November 4, 2008
daylight savings time :(
When Audrey normally wakes up:
7am (sometimes starts "talking" or making noises at 6:30)
her schedule now that daylight savings time is over:
usually starts making noise at 5:30am and is completely awake by 6am
Are there any other moms out there that hate daylight savings time right now, too??? and how long until we have her adjusted back???
